Surveys, Data Science and Statistics
Insight provides training and consulting services for the collection and analysis of statistical data.
Statistical data can be obtained for a project through a number of mechanisms including:
Survey collection of novel data (using a wide range of communication mediums including face-to-face, online, telephone, and mail),
Collation of previously collected survey data,
Collation of administrative data (routine data that is automatically generated as part of an organization’s standard processes and where there is often little thought about the analysis of this data at the time the data is recorded), and
Web scraping (collection of data stored in public forums online).
Insight then uses a wide range of methodologies for the analysis of such data including:
Statistical analyses (including descriptive statistics, regression, analysis of clustered and longitudinal data, and Structural Equation Modelling),
Text analytics (computational methods for understanding the patterns within text data), and
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyses and data visualization.
Insight has over 30 years of experience working in the collection and analysis of statistical data (at the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, Griffith University, Stanford University USA, McGill University Canada, and for industry, government, and non-government organizations). Insight CEO, Dr Mark Griffin, is the Chair of the Special Interest Group for Business Analytics (International Institute of Business Analysis), and the Co-Chair of the Section for Business Analytics (Statistical Society of Australia). Mark is also one of the most active presenters of short courses in surveys and statistics in Australia.
